Groundwater is monitored for both radiological and chemical contaminants at and surrounding SSFL in approximately 300 groundwater wells . With the exception of localised tritium in Area IV, man-made radiological contaminants have not been found in groundwater.
Complete results of all historical radiological data are provided in Appendix E of Volume II of the 2007 Annual Report.
