Hazardous Waste Management Facility (HWMF) Remaining Cleanup
HWMF is a facility with two buildings which were permitted under RCRA for the treatment and storage of hazardous waste. In December of 2006, DTSC approved a modified Closure Plan for HWMF and closure activities are currently under way. Closure involves the cleanup and demolition of both buildings followed by soil sampling to determine if a chemical release has occurred. If required, impacted soil will be removed and disposed off site.
